Welcome
The first ever Umrah catered for Deaf Muslims was organised
by Al-Isharah in April 2010. This was the first of its kind for the
Deaf Muslim community across the UK. The group was
welcomed by the Mayor of Makkah and a Saudi based Deaf
group.

The trip was of great significance to the group who benefited
from a step by step account of the Prophetic journey. The
group was accompanied by qualified scholars and BSL
interpreters and following it’s success, the Deaf Umrah will
now become an annual trip organised by Al-Isharah.

All prophets were sent to benefit Humankind. In addition, they spoke the language of the people they were sent to

As inheritors of the final prophetic legacy, it is of upmost importance the message can be accessed by all spectrums of society.

As the Holy Prophet rhetorically asked on the farewell pilgrimage, 'Have I not conveyed the message?'. The reply was, 'Indeed we bear witness'. In essence the message is perfect and complete. However in every age making it accessible to all is a task upon the people of inner core.

By making Islam accessible in sign language is a step towards us fulfilling this duty and passing on the Prophetic Inheritance.
